We've started a tradition of meeting at Wendy's after church on Sundays for lunch. We have all come to really look forward to it.

Just Keep Swimming
What a great day we had today! We spent the morning over at my sister's apartment swimming.
We started out by going to get donuts from Krispy Kream.
As soon as we were done, we went and hopped in the pool. Jackson, the little fish that he is, jumped right in (with floaties, of course) and swam excitedly.
Samuel got in the pool, too. At first he didn't know what to think, but as the morning wore on, he started getting into it. He enjoyed sitting on the step trying to pick up the pool tiles. (Hey...at least it kept him busy...)
It wasn't a half hour later when Jackson swam over to me looking a little...unwell. As I was asking him if he was okay, he vomited. I mean buckets...mostly pool water, but some lovely donut in there, too. You know what they say about not swimming for an hour after you eat? We will be abiding by that rule from now on. Poor little guy! Holly and I quickly scooped out what we could. Jackson went back to playing. Only this time we taught him how to keep his mouth closed while swimming. And we discovered that in the shallow end, he could touch! So he pretty much stayed in calmer waters for the rest of the time avoiding the ingestion of pool water.
After a while, Samuel started rubbing his eyes and whining. So I picked him up, patted his back, and before I knew it, he was asleep. In the pool. And stayed that way for a good 45 minutes.
By lunch, the boys were worn out, so we stopped by Chic-fil-a and headed home for lunch and a nap. What a great morning! Thanks, Holly and Myles, for having us!

Kids Playing Hard

Talkin' Baseball
Myles's baseball is over for the year. They had a great season, and I think they all had a lot of fun. To celebrate, they had a little party complete with a Mom vs Player game. Of course we had to go and watch Holly play!
While we were there, Jackson made a new friend. It is wonderful to see his confidence and social skills develop.
The rules were lax so he was allowed to go into the dugout and try on some baseball gear.
The game was so much fun to watch. And the best part? The Moms won! Woot!
For the occasion, I made a cake and cake pops. I was pleased with how they turned out. Cake Making = New Hobby!

Now This Is Fun
Why is it wonderful living near famiy? Because having sleepovers at Aunt Holly's house is fun! This was Jackson's first overnight trip away from home and me. I missed him. He, obviously, did not miss me...

Snow (Hey Oh)
It's snowing! School is closed! And Myles, Jackson and I headed outside to enjoy the white powdery stuff! This was Jackson's first time in the snow, and he loved it. He is such a nature lover. When he woke up in the morning, he looked out the window and said "Wooooow....snow!". So I headed to Target to pick up a cheap pair of snow bibs. The only pair they had in Jackson's size was in purple, but I figured he wouldn't mind. At least not until he was old enough to know I had put him in purple...
We had a snowball fight and made snow angels. We thoroughly enjoyed our Winter Wonderland!

The Three Of Us
As I type this, we are in our final 15 hours of being a family of three. I am so excited to meet Inside Baby. But I am also nervous at the same time. I am nervous about the repeat Cesarean, but mostly I am nervous about leaving Jackson for three days and how he will react to another new baby around taking my attention. I am sure he will be fine, but I can't help worry about my precious little boy!
I am feeling pretty good. We are all over our sicknesses (yes, the Penicillin was causing Jackson's diarrhea and red butt - so we'll add that to the no-give list along with the eggs and milk). I was able to fulfill ALL of my work commitments; my weight gain has really slowed down and I don't feel as "big" as I did - I carried Jackson back further than Inside Baby...he is all out front; and despite a Urinary Tract Infection and several painful episodes of Braxton Hicks contractions, the last few weeks have been pretty uneventful!

Some things that have happened since my last post:
We celebrated Thanksgiving. Jackson looked so handsome in his cords and sweater.
We deep fried a turkey which turned out absolutely delicious!!
It went so well that we decided to try our hand at deep fried Twinkies. They were equally as delicious!
We also celebrated Myles's 7th birthday at GattiTown.
I am so glad David is here. He has been here for nearly 2 weeks now! Jackson was so excited to see him and loves being able to see Dada and play with him every day!
I put in a special order of snow just so David could see it fall and it did! Nearly 3 inches, too! And cold cold cold complete with ice and loveliness. David is in ice heaven - he thinks this is all fantastic! Jackson got to wear his new winter gear.
I am still nesting, but have nearly gotten everything set up. Jackson's new room has a coloring station:
And a train set (the child LOVES choo-choo trains. LOVES them):
Jackson's vocabulary has grown leaps and bounds. He speaks so clearly and for the most part is able to get what he needs to say across fairly accurately and easily.
New words include:
Toles (Thomas)
Sponge Bob
Choo-Choo Train
Open
Close
Don't Touch
Christmas Tree
Ho Ho (Santa)
Grandmommy
Mioioioio
Brandy
JuJu (Judy)
Snow
Pee-shoo (stinky diaper)
Ready
Scratch scratch (bunny rabbit - one of his books associates the bunny with the sound scratch scratch)
He has begun saying two word phrases like "more cheese" and "bye Bapa".
Can sing ABC's... well, the melody... still working on the letters bit
Can count...kind of...the numbers aren't in order, but you can make out three, six, one, etc...
And if you say "big and strong" to Jackson he shows you his muscles. Hilarious!
But mostly, we've spent our last weeks as a family of three being silly!
(New favorite bathtime game - squirt the adult outside the bath)
(Typical Jackson - juice cup in one hand, train/truck/car in the other)
So I am going to quit blogging and spend time with my family for our final night together. We have to be at the hospital at 5am tomorrow morning and surgery is scheduled for 7am. We look forward to welcoming Inside Baby to the Outside World. And we can't wait to introduce him to you.
