It's My Party

'Tis the week for birthday parties! Jackson had three of them. I think he comprehended what was going on - he kept saying "Jackson's birthday," "Jackson's Thomas cake," "Jackson's presents"... Here is the picture walk-thru of our week.

Jackson was a little leery of his candles:

Jackson's birthday evening. Because I was making the cake for his birthday party on Saturday, Mom just picked up a generic cake from the store:

Jackson got some great gifts. The favorites were a Lightning McQueen kid's couch and a Leapfrog Laptop. He loves to sit on his couch and work on his laptop.

Sometimes he even insists on eating while he's working:

On Saturday, we had his birthday party. It was just a small gathering of close friends and family. Between the bad weather and the Easter weekend, not all of our invitees could attend. But we had a great time nonetheless.

Singing happy birthday:

Blowing out candles:

Tasting the icing:

Samuel got his hair did especially for the occasion:

Jackson got some nice gifts at this party, too! Amongst them,
Sunglasses:

A Lightning McQueen table and chairs - just his size:

A puzzle or two:

And a Lightning McQueen car to ride around in outside when the weather becomes less soggy:

Thank you to everyone who took part in celebrating Jackson's 2nd birthday!

Happy Birthday

The baby grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was two years old, and he ran all around the house. He pulled all the books off the shelves. He pulled all the food out of the refrigerator and he took his mother's watch and flushed it down the toilet. Sometimes his mother would say, "This kid is driving me CRAZY!"
But at night time, when that two-year-old was quiet, she opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor, and if he was really asleep she picked him up and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.
While she rocked him she sang:
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be.**

Happy 2nd birthday, my sweet Jackson!
You fill my life with incredible joy. I am so proud of you and who you are becoming - a boy with a kind heart, a love for learning and a personality that makes me laugh every day.
I love you forever!
