Feel It Out Loud

Happy Australia Day! And Happy Third Trimester! I can't believe how much my belly seems to have grown! All of a sudden breathing and sleeping and being comfortable just got harder!
Some new things: hiccups. I first noticed the hiccups while watching President Obama's inauguration speech on Wednesday, but the baby gets them a couple of times a day now. It is pretty cute! And David was playing with my belly and he had his hand pressing down and I swear that the baby pressed back onto David's. David has also been getting kicked at night time while we are trying to go to sleep. Hehe!
I have regained horrible indigestion. It was so bad these past few days that now I feel like I have swallowed a pack of razor blades. I think the trigger is chocolate (not that I eat much of it anyway...I'd rather have pasta sauce) so I will keep away from that and see how it goes.
Also, for anyone who is interested (i.e. my mom) I have taken my measurements.
Before baby: I weighed 60kg (132lbs), my bust was 97cm (38in), my waist was 71.5cm (28in) and my hips were 97cm (38in).
First day, third trimester: I weigh 69kg (152lbs), my bust is 107cm (42in), my waist is 99.5cm (39in) and my hips are 106cm (41.5in).
So basically I have gone from an hour glass into a log. I am pretty keen to start hiking again, but it'll have to wait a couple of months. I feel so lazy...even hanging up 3 loads of laundry to dry outside tires me out. I hate not being active. I hope when I start my aquafitness classes in a week it'll help.
Anyway, my mom, aunt, sister and dad have all booked their tickets to come over in May/June. I am SO excited!!! It will be fantastic to have everyone here! And baby (we have decided we are not 100% sold on Hunter yet...by we I mean David...so there is a possible name change in the cards...first name, not middle or last) will be happy to have Nana, Mio, Auntie and Bapa kisses.

My Way

Hello 25 weeks! 25 is a good number...it feels...stable. I can't believe I will be in my third trimester in a mere two weeks!
Firstly, my 25 week belly...

And next... Pictures of my adorable 25 week old son!!

Including one of his scary baby face...

And cute little feet.

It's been a big week. I went for my first appointment with the birthing centre yesterday. I ended up in the part of the hostpital that advocates active birth...embrace your pain...no drugs. And I just started laughing because you guys know me...the girl with the LOWEST pain tolerence EVER! So they wisely transferred me back downstairs where I am allowed to use drugs during labour.
After a massive amount of confusion and phone calls, my due date was confirmed as the 27 of April. I am right on schedule with measurements and all signs point to a Taurus baby.
David came with me to the ultrasound this morning to see his son and be a proud daddy. The baby was SO cute! He was all calm and cuddly. His head was down in my right hip bone with his back against my side facing the left with his legs and feet stretched out onto my left side. All was going well until he decided he was tired of being measured during his nap so he rolled over and buried his face into my right hip bone. The ultrasound technician had me rolling onto both sides to try and get him to move so we could get a good picture of his face. He was reluctant until the very end where he gave us a nice smile (AKA scary baby face), and went back to sleep. His heartbeat was at a happy and active 153bpm. I know why he is so tired today...it is STINKING hot outside and this is what he does when he is working on a growth spurt. I bet he would perk up a bit if I got in a pool or the ocean. I think I might perk up a bit if I got in a pool or the ocean....

Mashed Potato Time

Week 24. And Happy 2009! I think the baby had a growth spurt this week. I am now feeling little kicks on my ribs. And am still having horrific pain in my back at times. Hopefully the aquafitness classes will help. The fatigue has set back in again. I don't know if it is sleep deprivation from not being able to sleep well at night or third trimester tiredness starting to creep in or both. Probably both!
Hunter LOVES potatoes. If I eat them in any form he goes crazy down there! I read somewhere that now he can taste, he will form food preferences depending upon what I eat. So I am trying to eat a lot of broccoli and veggies. It's worth a try :)
I have another appointment at the birthing centre next week as well as an ultrasound so we'll get another look at the little guy and hopefully be able to book in for the birth. Stay tuned for ultrasound pics next week!
